The Fire Corps reminds us to check our websites and our smoke alarms! We often think of those brave men and women that serve us in emergencies. This month we were honored to help Towns County Fire Corps with their site. The Fire Corps is an all volunteer organization that supports  Towns County Fire Rescue in the North Georgia Mountains. They collect funds for buildings, vehicles and training. In addition they look for applicable grants, organize volunteers, conduct safety and fire training and public awareness events. This allows the fire rescue teams to focus on emergency events. Not only are they first responders to structure, wildland fires, perform medical rescue, they also respond to auto accidents, boating accidents, drownings, flooding, gas spills, appalachian trail accidents and many other incidents. Because of some of the great works done homeowner insurance rates are on average 10% – 15% lower. Due to unforseen circumstances they had lost all of the data and content on their site. We developed a new logo and banner graphic, set up their new site and provided content management training. In under two hours the Corps President Liz Ordiales was writing and posting her own recent photos and news updates. After reading some of the fire safety information I want to remind everyone, If you did not check your smoke alarm batteries when we changed our clocks back it’s time to check them now. Stay safe!
